On Friday, May 16th, Pridelines, in partnership with Lambda Living and SAGE USA, proudly hosted our second annual LGBTQ Elders Awareness Day Conference at the Scott Galvin Community Center in North Miami. With support from Councilman Kevin Burns, this impactful event welcomed over 20 participants for a day of education, empowerment, and community building.

The conference featured a dynamic panel of speakers who provided invaluable resources and insights for our elder LGBTQ community, including:
Financial Planning Tools for aging with dignity and stability.
The Alliance for Aging, offering guidance on how to recognize and report elder abuse.
PACE Center representatives, who shared details on their holistic programs and services supporting older adults.
AARP’s Senior Planet, which highlighted its free tech-literacy classes in Midtown — teaching seniors everything from sending a text message to using social media platforms like Facebook and Zoom.
In addition to informative sessions, attendees enjoyed raffles, giveaways, and meaningful conversation. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing gratitude for the opportunity to connect with both peers and essential community resources.
Events like these remind us that our elders are the trailblazers of our movement — and they deserve to age in spaces that are safe, supportive, and affirming.
Thank you to everyone who made this day so special!
