LGBTQ+ Rights are Human Rights

LGBTQ+ advocacy is of utmost importance today as it strives to create a world where members of the community can live without fear of discrimination, marginalization, or violence. Despite some progress, many LGBTQ+ individuals still lack legal protections, and existing protections are under constant threat.

Advocacy efforts are crucial to ensure that LGBTQ+ people have equal access to employment, housing, healthcare, education, and other essential services. This involves raising awareness and educating people about the unique experiences and needs of the LGBTQ+ community, promoting acceptance, and breaking down harmful stereotypes.

In this ongoing struggle, organizations like Pridelines play a critical role in offering a safe and non-judgmental space for LGBTQ+ individuals to seek support, resources, and community. Pridelines recognizes the importance of LGBTQ+ advocacy and will continue to work tirelessly to provide a safe and welcoming environment for everyone in the community. Together, through advocacy and community building, we can create a more just and inclusive society for all.

Equality Florida

Equality Florida formed in 1997 as Governor Jeb Bush took office and Florida’s state government made a hard turn to the right. Our strong presence in the Capitol since our founding over 25 years ago has allowed us to defeat or neutralize dozens of anti-LGBTQ bills since 1997. These bills included efforts to: overturn all local anti-discrimination policies, repeal all safe schools policies, expand Florida’s anti-gay adoption ban, and prohibit domestic partnership benefits and protections.
